Re: Trouble with RHH 130 hi-hat

2010-01-06 by Tom Watson

Hi Keith
I was one of the people having this problem... the dtx-I brain will fry it's self every so often...it's probably a ground problem. it does wierd things that you can't fix until you reset to factory.

I have written all my settings onto a factory reset settings page with all the setting changes I need to make, things like the RHH130 and pintech cymbals and toms and bass trigger settings... also the kit voices our drummer likes, with a cow bell and the bell sound on one of the toms... this just makes it easy to do this each time it happens! it happens about every 3 months... just long enough to forget what to do...lol

This problem has cropped up before, but is usually because the modules default to a normal HH, even if you bought the Special kit. You could try a factory reset (but you will lose all your custom settings) and then you would have to edit the trigger setting back to RHH. I hope the HH Offset fixes it.

It could be a faulty RHH, although it is fairly rare. If you have a multimeter I can give you some things to check (resistances as you move the pedal) which would tell you if the pedal is working.

Keith.
