So for a laugh, I connected up my Logitech X-230 PC Speakers (twin speakers + sub) at a cost of £32. I was literally blown away with the quality! No distortion, crystal clear. Not terribly loud, but way loud enough for my practicing. > > So I thought about spending another £32 and getting another set from Amazon. Before I do, has anyone else tried any other PC speakers for the £50 mark which do the job even nicer than my Logitechs ? > > Thanks. > I did my first gig with the Logitech Z2300! Cost around £100. It was a small gig. They are 120W sub and 2x40W satellite (RMS). The X230 is 20W sub, 2x6W satellite, so a bit underpowered. I guess you may find something with a bit more power for £50 (e.g. Logitech Z4), but if you could squeeze a bit more cash I would look at something like this: http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_box_pa108a_demo.htm although a bigger bass unit would be preferable. I have the 15" version: http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_box_pa302a_biamped_fullrangebox.htm Whatever you choose, make sure you are comparing RMS figures - the "music power" or "peak" figures are a waste of time. Good luck. Keith.
