I can't remember everything that I experienced with the Sherpa, but I can assure that you can't use the Sherpa effectively without tapping two inputs. The most convenient two would be 9/10 on the Xpress modules; any other pair would waste the "stereo" potential. I also can assure you that I labored long and hard to get a usable signal from the rim. As I tried to make clear in the review, while being fair to Sherpa, that the DTXpress module is by no means tailormade for this pad. The kick input theoretically should work as well as any other on the module, provided that you're not trying to use the one that functions as an extra extra input, for which you need to program the module. SOmeone else can help you there; I've forgotten what that entails. Ed
