Yes, the DTXTREMEIIS is an great choice, as you already know the 
DTXPRESS and nomenclature is the same.  With sample loading via smart 
media it makes it easy to do your "sampling" on the computer with a wave 
editor and import from waves copied to the card.  The only issue will be its 
max sampling time of 94 seconds in mono.  Do you need a lot of 60 sec. 
snippets?

To store several minutes worth of music as you described you need 
something with more RAM.  The rule of thumb is 10MB per stereo minute, and 
samplers can have 4MB, 8MB, 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, or more.  Look 
around on ebay and I'm sure you'll find some type of decent used sampler.

You can get away with mono samples if your going through a mono amp 
anyway.  This will save you some RAM, allowing you to get twice the amount 
of mono samples as you would stereo.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
