Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

I ordered my pads through sweetwater.com.  I got an extra dual zone 
and single zone cymbal pad(PCY65S and PCY65) and holders (CYAT65).  
They appeared to have the best prices.  I had to search their site 
with the model numbers to find them.  I tried a Pintech Dingbat, it 
works but I don't like it that much, plus the mounting system isn't 
that great.  It comes with a clamp that you can't use as it must 
attach to something larger than the cymbal rods.  I had to put my HH 
pad on the module arm and use the 1.5 right angle clamp that held 
the HH pad arm to the snare arm.(I have a DTXpress3 Std)  The 
dingbat is the same diameter as the rack poles.  I have alot of 
crosstalk issues with this setup because the rigid mounting 
transmits vibes all over the place even though I have the triggering 
as low as you can go with it.  It still takes a bit more of a wack 
to get it to trigger compared to the stock cymbal pads.  Seemed like 
a good idea at the time but I should've just bought Yamaha to begin 
with. My only complaint with adding pads is the voice setups on all 
of the kits when you add to 9/10 make no sense.  On some kits it'll 
be a crash or a china, then the next selection it'll be a heavy bell 
of a ride.  You'll have to build user kits to really be satisfied.  
With all of the sounds on the module that can take quite a while.  
At least there is something to choose from!  I hope this helps just 
some of my own ramblings!  One more thing...I read somewhere, and I 
can't seem to find where again, that you can use mono splitters on 
the 9 or 10 inputs and in effect have an extra of the SAME cymbal on 
the kit.  I haven't tried this so I don't know if it works but I 
intend to try it.  Anybody out there know if this will really work 
or not?
