RE: Spam:[DTXpress] Adding on..

2005-09-29 by Damon, Rob

Alan,

I assume when you say you have no free inputs, is because you have a
Dtxpress III special?

If this is the case you only have one free input no. 10 that is shared
with your Crash2 cymbal in input 9/10.

This doesn't mean that you can only add a mono zone pad like a PCY130.
IF you are willing to move pads around and use only custom kits, you can
reconfigure the kit so that you could add another PCY150S stereo three
zone pad.

If you are handy with electronics, you could make a DTXpander box that
would let you use the unused rim zones on inputs 1,3,4,5 but there are
limitations.

The third choice is locate a trigger to midi box, like the TMC-6 from
Roland, that would let you plug in up to 6 mono zone trigger pads and
then run a midi cable from the TMC-6 to the Midi jack on the back of the
Dtxpress module and use it to trigger sounds that are inside the module.

The fourth choice is to add a used second module.

That should give you a few options to consider.

OGD

Sorry guys if this has been covered a million times but I had a
question about adding other pads to my DTXPRESS III. I guess my main
objective is to have other pads to use mainly for cymbals. Looking at
the rear panel I do not see any extra inputs so I believe I need to
purchase some sort of uhh something! Where can I get something like
this? Thanks everyone!
