RE: [DTXpress] PC Midi Lead

2005-02-03 by Ken Bracey

Alan,

If you're talking about the 'To Host cable' you can get it here:
http://kellysmusic.mb.ca/productinfo.asp?id=1316491086

I've been using it successfully. You can only use a serial connection. If
you want USB I suggest you get a USB midi adapter for your PC and then use
standard MIDI cable. The 'To Host' cable has a maximum length of 6 feet.
I've put an extension on mine effectively making it 12 feet and I
occasionally get drop outs and MIDI lockups so 6 feet really is the max! You
will need the driver for the using the To Host Cable and it is available
here: http://www.yamaha.co.uk/xg/html/software/s_serial.htm

Good luck.

P.S. That cable requires that the switch on the back of your module be set
to 'PC-2'
