Yamaha has some legal reason (vs V-drums) for using rael heads, but I understand that mesh heads are compatible if you care to fit them after you make your purchase.
So I am told by local shop when asked exactly the same question!

So then does anyone know if the DTXpress will
completely work with the DTXtreme's RHP100 (including the rim
trigger?)
