I had two of the Yamaha kick tower's go bad on me... just like you, it would just start skipping inputs and it couldn't be fixed with settings. The drum store sent both of them back for repair, and when I took in the second one, they were nice enough to give me credit toword something else. And I would recommend that something else to anybody/everybody. I got an S&S Stealth pad which you can see at: http://triggerperfect.com/ssindex.htm#kick Greatest addition I've made to the set! Much more comfortable than kicking that Yamaha brick wall, and I've used it about 3 times more than I used the 2 Yamaha pads combined, and it hasn't missed a beat yet. And with it's lower profile, it fits into the "goodie" box alot easier than that huge monstrosity that comes with it. And for those who always complain about how noisy the Y-pad is, the stealth is really quiet. There's my 2-cents worth. Good luck! Rolf
