Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi

So, I took my new DTXPRESSIII to practice and we had smoke coming out
of the PA speakers. I think we broke them.

So we got thinking about the fact that we should each (standard rock
threesome) have some sort of combo.

To project a drum kit, though, it appears after some asking around,
that we need much more than just a standard guitar combo. We need real
highs and lows. A 15" speaker, a horn, maybe even a mid section too.

My local shop guy (he's a drummer himself) recommended a Peavey KB300,
but I can't seem to find one of those.

Who knows how much the Yamaha monitor system costs? And what do you
successfully use for amplification?

We're not gigging yet, just playing for our own enjoyment, but we've
reached the point where we need a better sound.
