Hi Rick, there are no sonic differences between MEK and desktop Evolver. Only difference is that the UI is much more fun and that the keys and wheels just feel sexy ;) Coming from the piano I always was prejudiced againgst 3 octave keyboards, but with the MEK I found that it's a lot of fun. Somehow you play different than on a large keyboard, you tend to use the wheels and aftertouch more often. I am rather sad that I had to send the MEK back yesterday.
