By request: Evolver + MonoMachine + Machinedrum demo

I've been working with the same bits of kit lately, with the addition
of a Polymorph. ;-]

It's amazing how all these all-in-one synth/sequencers (instruments!)
work together and feed off each other. ;-]

What is a polymorph? Also, how do you like the monomachine?

The Quasimidi Polymorph... It's a relatively short run
synthesizer/sequencer made by Quasimidi right before their ultimate
demise. Vintage Synth has a page for it...
http://www.vintagesynth.org/misc/polymorph.shtml

It's architecture is very, very weird... It's the strangest combination
of bizarre restrictions and complex flexibility. Most of the
flexibility stems from the builtin sequencer... which isn't too
different from the Evolver's, in fact.

As for the Monomachine, I love it. Very fast, easy to use, sounds
great, the sequencer works well for certain aspects of my music. They
just announced a tabletop this morning, a Monomachine sans-keyboard for
~600 bones less. Cool for those with a ton of keys already.

Thanks, where did the female "want" sample come from?
Peace,

I downloaded it from a site wich had a list of people who do
commercials. Not sure if it is free of rights though.....

Very cool tune and use of the female voice sample is right on.
Thanks for posting it. I only asked about the sample because I
liked it. This piece has a unique blend of styles, definitely got a
pair of boots made for walkin'. Keep 'em comin' and get well soon!

Peace,
Jimbo

hey, I quite enjoyed this as well Ronald! nicely done!

I don't have a Monomachine, but anyone so inclined can
hear me using a Machinedrum, Evolver and Nord Modular
together on some of my tracks here (tracks with the
above-mentioned combo include "rspltvcwrx", "adsr 2",
"wormsong", "AT 235" and "aerilium"):

hope someone enjoys :)

cheers,
kevin

Kevin, I definitly spotted the evolver :-) and the machinedrum is
very detectable too.
About the songs, it's not my taste but they sound very good. (as far
as i could hear through the stream wich is always less than the
original)

Ronald.

the long: see the elektron-users yahoo group :-)

the short: along with sounding excellent and having several different
synthesis types (analog emulation, FM, wavesampling, vocal (formant)
synthesis, etc.) and effects, it has a very powerful built-in
sequencer. this interface and design is very immediate and
inspirational to work with. and to me, those are the best qualities to
look for in a synth.

you won't get specifics of that sort, but you can check out
www.monomachine.com for a list/description of the included synthesis
machines and sound examples of each one.

there will more-than-likely be a better description of each synthesis
machine and the MnM itself in the next few weeks.

I know some peeps will just buy a monomachine because its cool. Well,
I dont have 10's of thousands to play with so buying one on cool
factor is not quite responsible to my studio needs. I need those
specs.... Oh well. I guess I will stick to my plans to get a g2, if
they ever come out.

neither is it for mine; it's taking me 3-1/2 months to pay it off. but
it's well worth it.

> I need those

well, I guess my standard for specs is lower than yours. but when told
that it does analog emulation of saw and pulse and then presented with
demos of those sounds, I didn't ask about their emulation
architecture; I just heard that they sounded great and went for it.

then again, I love the Elektron Machinedrum (which the Monomachine is
based on), so I guess I had enough faith in them that it was a great
product.

Joe.
