"A slightly updated (version 1.6) of the PIC processor software is 
now available - it fixes two bugs:  1) a slight problem selecting 
Bank 4 from MIDI, and 2) Sequencer Destinations Distortion and Clock 
were overlapped. "

This is the fix for the Distortion/Clock Div problem that several 
people in the group found.

Sounddriver Adaptation. The new adaptation can be found in the files
section.

For anyone that doesn't already know, the "Bank 4" that Don refers to 
is a quick "best of" collection thrown together by Dave for the new 
bank of program memory slots afforded by the new OS.  The programs in 
this "Bank 4" collection were taken entirely from 
the "Evolutionaries" user forum soundset.  "Bank 4" will almost 
certainly change before the new OS is finalized, and new Evolvers 
start shipping with the new bank of sounds.

No Problem, you know this is funny, I just got around to updating my Evolver
today to the latest 1.6 beta and read that it had some of the evolutionaries
patches in bank 4, but after loading the beta my bank 4 was empty. This is
what prompted me to change the SD adaptation, so I could add bank 1 of the
evolutionaries easily to the evolver. I'm still curious why I got the empty
bank after the update though.

I have an empty bank 4 also, so I'm guessing that the
bank of patches was in the 1.5 version and not 1.6. I
didn't get around to updating until 1.6 was available
so I skipped the 1.5 PIC file entirely.

what are you guys talking about? I grabbed version 1.5 as a ZIP file
which included the PIC and DSP file *and* the bank 4 file.  in other words,
bank 4 is a separate file. so check the directory where you unzipped
the OS update, there's probably a bank 4 file there.

(note that this was the case with OS1.5, I haven't done the 1.6 update yet.)

There is a file for bank4 in the 1.5 zip doc.

what are you guys talking about? I grabbed version 1.5 as a ZIP file
which included the PIC and DSP file *and* the bank 4 file.  in other words,
bank 4 is a separate file. so check the directory where you unzipped
the OS update, there's probably a bank 4 file there.

Aha, that was the issue. Bank 4 is not in the 1.6 zip
file. Luckily 1.5 is still on the server even though
there isn't a link to it anymore/
