Well, the Amp section has an extra control called VCA Level that basically allows you to move the zero point (silence) of the amplifier up. If you crank it all the way up it essentially overrides the Envelope section and produces sound at full volume constantly (a drone). It was a more common feature on older synths...the SCI Pro-One comes to mind. Les'see...who designed that?
