Steven seriously, does it matter? Upgrade vs Preferential Modification, who cares? Also, since you're getting all analytical you should re-read what you just wrote below. You said," ive read all the posts here and i cant say clearly what the 'improvement 'is , unless 1. your encoders are dirty or faulty and you need to replace them or 2. you personally prefer pots. Ive yet to see a good explaination beyond that." Both of those examples are enough to satisfy the definition of improvement. And both of those reasons are what EVERYONE is using to justify the purchase of the pot kit who gets one. Meaning it isn't an 'improvement' to those people, it is an improvement. If your encoders work fine, GREAT! If you prefer endless rotation vs 270 degrees of limited rotation, GREAT! Don't get the kit, because if you do, I'll venture to guess that, you'll be disappointed. -Jim ________________________________ From: steven pistrich <wasteking1@...> To: DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com Sent: Fri, January 15, 2010 3:39:36 PM Subject: Re: [DSI Synths] PEK potentiometers ive read all the posts here and i cant say clearly what the 'improvement 'is , unless 1. your encoders are dirty or faulty and you need to replace them or 2. you personally prefer pots.
