Thanks for all the clarifications. Glad to see you are getting into the VZ menu structure with some success. I have some a few VZ patches that are totally unlike anything else and I thoroughly enjoyed the results of my efforts, though programming on the VZ-8m is extremely awkward and uncomfortable. Maybe the VZ-1 is a bit easier. Whenever I attempt to return to programming the VZ-8m, I have to spend time re-teaching myself how to access what features, what parameters are located where, etc.

I always refer back to my VZ-8 manual to refresh my memory. Do you have the manual for the VZ-1? I also have penciled in notes where the manual is unclear or wrong or I needed a personal reminder for something that the manual's wording wasn't sufficient. I think most of them relate to parameters unique to the VZ-8m; otherwise I'd look them up and share them here.

In the overflow CZ/VZ/FZ group (set up by the owner because file space was running short), one VZ user (Clifford) posted some new patches that in my opinion put the factory patches to shame.

As for the CPU overload with softsynths and soft-FX, I completely understand. (That's one of the reasons I still love hardware synths!) I think the only solution to the vicious cycle of software needing more system resources is to get a new computer--more RAM, more storage, more CPU power, etc.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
