Re: [CZsynth] cz 1000 sysex dump?

2009-07-14 by Lee Borrell

Okay,
This is what I have - the original message was from Ken Whitley (spreznib@...) to machines@...

The presumption was that HANDSHAKING was necessary with CZ's - that is - there was a dialogue between PC and CZ to set up SYSx- Ken tells us different - only one message is needed to prompt the CZ to give up SYSx:

Send it F0 44 00 00 70 10 70 31 F7
It sends back F0 44 00 00 70 30 (data) F7

Change the 0x30 in the data header to 0x20(patch) and send it to the CZ and it goes into the patch location Patch 0x60 is the edit buffer 0x20..2F is internal memory,0x40..4F is cartridge memory.

I have used Ken's system myself to transfer CZ1000 files to a CZ230s - so it does work. I have more details on the CZ SYSx system - but they seem to be printouts - when I find the original files I will post them if I have them. Note - all messages are Hexadecimal if you need to convert for some reason:
