I looked over the Service Manual for the VZ-1 and there isn't any output level control adjustment internally. Which is strange considering the CZ's have one. I suppose the gain on the output op amps could be increased by replacing the feedback resistors. For more on this research Kawai K5 output mods. The best way I found to increase the output level is to use 3 to 1 isolation transformers in reverse. For more info on this research Redsound Darkstar output mods.
