Well, I had never heard of Nobels until they came up on the lists
recently. Afterwards, I tried taking a look at the MF-2 (the MF-1's "big
brother"), but even that's a bit rudimentary for me.
Overall, they don't look too bad if you only need a moderately simple
device, but if you require anything more, Behringer's FCB-1010 pretty much
smokes everything in that price range (even if it is a complete & utter
bloody b*tch to program). The Behringer looks like it's almost $50 cheaper
than the MF-1, too.
For the record though, even the FCB doesn't have the kind of functionality
I need. I use a Peavey PC1600x MIDI Fader/Control Unit in conjunction with
a Digitech MC-7 (a discontinued MIDI pedal from the '90's -- pretty much
the same functionality as the Nobels MF-1, but you can pick them up used
for like $40 on Ebay).
So, it doesn't look like there's anything explicitly wrong with the MF-1,
given what it does. Although I would say that $169 list price is an awful
lot of cash for such a simple pedal. The price/performance ratio just
doesn't seem like it's there, IMNSHO....
