The VF-1 has quite a few bass specific programs. It has a preamp section
but you can configure it either for guitar or for other instruments or
microphones. I use my VF1 with my guitars, bass and keyboards. You
should give it a try, it is much more flexible than most other units in
that price range.

Subject: Bass Player Question
Hi All
This question is open to all who read it.
I'm currently looking for a rack effects unit to finish out my
system. I have just returned a Boss GT-6B floor effects unit and
although it pained me to return it I had a more difficult time with
having to lean over all the time to make adjustments to the effects/
parameters. I would prefer to have a rack mount unit to work with.
I'm avoiding the Line 6 Bass pod pro for several reasons the
first of which its primary function seems to be a cab simulator/DI
recording unit and not an effects unit. It does have a few effects
but nothing compared to a GT-6B.
I cannot find out anywhere that states what effects are actually
in the VF-1 unit or if it has a guitar pre amp in it.
If anyone has any suggetions on what could be comparable I would
really appreciate it. One note that I dont know if its true or not
but I was told to avoid effects units that have a guitar pre amp in
it and that it would sound like crap for a bass...Any takers.
