Mod wheel potentiometer value

Mod wheel potentiometer value

2008-05-23 by this_is_ra

After having problems with my A6, whereby turning the mod wheel messed
up the system and brings up parameter screens and the sound gets
totally weird, I opened it up and pressure-blew the mod wheel pot to no
avail.
I just had a synth repair guy come over and he sprayed some cleaning
fluid that temporarily fixed the problem. He said I should change the
pot because it has deteriorated and is sending too many unexpected
signals to the OS and this throws it off.
It looks like an off-the-shelf part and there is no value prited on it;
measured 5K or something but most likely would be a 8 or 10K pot.

Does anyone have a schematic or know the value of the pot? Any details
are appreciated.

Thanks,
Ra

thanks Sunny, that is some awesome info.

Unfortunately, I could not find the MOD pot in the diagrams.
If any of you circuit-diagram experts can find it in there, please let
me know.

Yes you are right - can't find it anywhere (and I am an 'expert' -
having the A6 diagrams is sheer gear porn :-)

There is an input for the pots, but as the pots themselves aren't on
a PCB I think they got skipped unfortunately.

All the other control pots are 5KB linear, which the Mod and Pitch
are likely to be - but not guaranteed as they go through a different
buffer circuit from everything else.

Does the current pot have any numbers or marking on it at all?
