RE: [Andromeda_A6-ION] Re: Menu navigation without rotating the pots ?

Hi there,

When you are controlling the Andromeda from an external source, it is possible to program data increment memories to any value that can be triggered by an NRPN message (the one thing they did right was make almost the entirety of the A6's many parameters directly accessible by customized NRPN messages).

I made a memory matrix in Max/MSP that I use for this purpose in combination with another controller pad and keyboard. A pair of buttons from the controller goes to the neck of the matrix in Max/MSP, and clicking the appropriate panel space on the screen selects the value I want to adjust on the A6.

Each panel remembers the last value input, but it cannot currently default to a value until I've adjusted it at least once. I'm hoping to one day be able to initialize the patch by feeding in a sysex file of the program. This also means that if I adjust the A6 without going through the program, it won't know the current values any longer.

So what I try to do is save an instance of this patch for every program I'm working on until it's mostly finished. Beyond that I won't bother with going through Max/MSP afterwards. I tried to lay out the patch in a way similar to the layout on the A6.

I'd love to share the patch but unfortunately I am out of the country indefinitely and away from both my A6 and the patch. When I return I will probably release the patch publically.

Hope at least this idea helps - you can get the effect you want without having to compromise if you are willing to put a 3rd party between your control and the A6!
