I have both. The Ion is great for practices and playing out because it is a fairly good analog approximation, is easy to tweak while playing, portable, and if it was to get damaged or stolen I wouldn't be out as much as with some of my other synths. My A6 mainly gathers dust, as I have never grown to like it due to its often obtuse operating system, the less than helpful manual, and the poor factory patches. People tell me how powerful it is, but I'm mainly interested in quickly being able to get a sound I want. With the Ion, I can usually go to something close, do some quick adjustments, and there I am. With the Andromeda I start with some awful patch that they felt obligated to throw everything into, start turning things off, and usually decide to go use another synth. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
