The Voyager's very groovy and satisfying. Check out the Macbeth M3X if you get a chance. Handmade, built like a tank, Minimoog layout, *very* Mini-like sound, very punchy, killer bass and leads, nice modulation matrix, MIDI, routeable CV ins and outs, much less expensive, no keyboard or beautiful wood. (All right, I've got some demos of that on my site too ...) The A6 doesn't sub for a Mini, but it'll do a pretty convincing imitation in some patches. As to the comment that the A6's basic sound isn't so hot, from some angles it's almost true. There are some synths you can sit down with and get amazing sounds immediately. The A6's personality is more to resist you initially. You'll mess around with it and think, "This thing sounds weak. It's a turd." I wish it were as immediately rewarding. Generally it isn't. But even flipping through factory presets should be enough to show what an giant range of great sounds it's capable of, as fat as you could wish. But I think it was partly my craving for a simple instant-gratification synth that made me get an M3X to sit next to it. > -----Original Message----- > From: musashidan2000 [mailto:musashidan2000@...] > Sent: Thursday, June 10, 2004 10:07 AM > To: Andromeda_A6-ION@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [Andromeda_A6-ION] Re: Andromeda vs. Vermona Perfourmer > > > I just decided to give a listen to the Moog Voyager.
