It sounds to me like you should not do this.  You've identified that you prefer 
the JP8's sound slightly over the A6 even though the A6 can do so much more.  
If you have any second thoughts about, my advice to you is to keep it.  The JP8 
and A6 do sound different IMHO - but that doesn't mean that I prefer one over 
the other.  

I used to own a JP-8 in the late eighties.  Analog was on its way out and 
everyone was going digital and sample-playback at the time (or so it seemed).  
In my young age and foolishness, I sold my JP-8 to help finance some other 
synths that I bought (and no longer own).  It is, to this day, my only regret 
in all of the synths that I have sold over the years.  When I looked to buy one 
again a few years later, the prices had skyrocketed on them to about $2000 US 
for a JP-8 in good shape.  I don't know the going price on them today but I 
know that they still command a high price (IMHO) for what you're getting.

Bottom line, IMHO is don't sell it if the primary reason is to raise funds to 
buy another synth.  If you still have uses for it and like the sound of it, you 
*WILL* regret it.  Although you can get close to the JP-8's sound with some 
work, it will never be the same thing.  Save up for an A6 (which is what I'm 
doing currently).  The A6 is a great synth, but think carefully before selling 
something that you may potentially miss.
