Studio 4.11 Assembler

Perhaps I should clarify an earlier question. I am
using ATmega168s and studio 4.11 just released.
The assembler gives me one syntax error,
'<' encountered, and no warnings. There are no carots in the code. Neither
does the assembler point to the code line in error. Instead it gives a message
about the path it took, no suggestion as to where it encountered the
error.
Any suggestions?
