Don't shoot...don't shoot!

Microchip has some reset chips that are also pin compatible.  Take a 
look at the MCP3819 series...about half a buck.

They make interesting interface chips that are also very inexpensive, 
even in onesies and twosies.  We use their D/As in several products.  We 
still keep the lye soap and clorox around, though.
