How are you going to fit 46 IO in a 35 pin packages? :-)
There are lots of 40 pin PDIPs in Atmel's range but not
with that many IO obviously. The Mega 64 or 128 can give
you up to 53 IO but it only comes in SMD. You can buy
adaptor boards for them however.
