RE: code compare tool

2006-03-10 by Gary Skinner

Chuck-
You already have the best comparer tool out there-
Beyond compare can compare 2 files also
They need to be simple text (it can't compare 2 word documents side by
side)
Simplest way is to drag the new file from explorer into the left side of
the file compare view of beyond compare-
That will bring up that file ready to compare
Then drag old file into the empty right half
Then you can turn on view all/view with context/view only changes
Click on the "rule" icon and select C code and it will adjust rules
appropriately

I think there is a way to have the file compare come up as the default
instead of directory compare, but I don't like it that way

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
