The datasheet for each microcontroller the settings. To summarize, BODEN is an abbreviation for Brown Out Detector ENable. If brown-out detection is enabled, the other setting (BODLEVEL) determines the actual voltage level below which the brown-out detector will be triggered, i.e. 2.7 volts or 4.0 volts. Which of these levels you choose depends on your particular application.
