AVR-Chat

I just had my parallel port smoke from programming as well.   I went
down to bestbuy and bought a USB to PARPORT adaptor  (Although they
guy working there told me there was no such thing...)  I looked on the
shelf and there it was.  Works great.  That might at least get you
going again.
