Thanks for the idea, I'll try that out.

I have successfully used Avr-dude in the past to program the
microcontrollers via my STK500 (those were all chips on the STk itself,
tonight I'll try to use Avrdude to program a uC in an external circuit via
the STK).

Does anybody know if Avr-dude is compatible with the Olimex AVR-PG1B
hardware?
