Hi Rajesh,

in the recent issue of the german elektronics magazin
ELEKTOR you'll find an article discussing exactly 
that subject. They have some datasheets of suitable
sensors, schematic (+layout) for an ultrasonic distance 
meter and even AVR controller software - written in C.

That's the good news - the bad one: The article is in 
German. You may check www.elektor.de  go to
their download section and look for  the december 
issue. At least the datasheets and software found 
there may be of interest for you.
