Let me apologize for being blunt because I'm tired--worked every day this week, plus a gig and other stuff. You have this cool synthesizer but you don't want to program it and you don't like the presets. The AN1X list memembers have provided thousands of patches but you don't want to browse through them. Go to the files section. Click on the AN1X file folder. Ed has kindly spent some time to name every patch (and there's a lot of patches). There are many sounds which could be useful for funk and hip hop. The only way to know if they fit your needs is to listen to them and play them. Then check the windows or Macintosh folder for AN1X edit. Then look at Jon's excellent FAQ and the painstakingly compiled tricks and tips files. The AN1X is an instrument and as such you need to spend some time with it to learn how to really use it. Browsing through patches and tweaking presets is part of that process. Jimmy
