changing the sequencer pattern via a midi CC

changing the sequencer pattern via a midi CC

2005-11-08 by elmosexwhistle

hello there peeps :) ive had a lurvely an1x for about 6 years (when i
got it 2nd hand for 200!) and have been programming patches for quite
a while. however, i do have a question.

is it possible to switch the an1x from ARP mode to SEQ mode via my
standard midi sustain pedal? this would be so useful as some live
performances need the sequences in the verse and arp in the chorus.
doing this via the foot pedal would free up my hands to make sure i
didnt miss any notes!

hope you can help

peace out yall

I know that the Foot Pedal can be used to stop/start the Arp/Seq when the AN1x is in
mode 2, but I don't think you can alternate between the two modes using the foot pedal.

I would suggest one of two approaches. 1) Store duplicate Voices in consecutive programs
numbers - one with the Arp and the other with the Seq selected. I think you can program
one of the two the foot pedals to increment program changes. 2) find yourself a remote
MIDI Controller to transmit the SysEx string necessary to alternate bewtween the two
modes.

DUPLICATE VOICES! why the hell didnt i think of that? im doing a bit
of patch cleaning on my an1x later, and shall be trying out some of
the banks that the group has made :)

thanks alot for yourself.

ps. i cant believe how well the an1x still holds up, i mean i like the
warmer sound it has over the nord, i guess our little blue box is
timeless!
