yeah, I kinda remember something like this happening. Were you performing the edits
from the AN1x or from AN1xEdit?

There was something odd about saving from the edit buffers to the Voice when using
AN1xEdit - don't recall the correct series of steps to take off the top of my head...

im editing on the synth itself. Is there a most recent OS that
would correct this. How do i check the current OS of my synth? i
hope it doesnt factory set the board, like it did when i checked the
OS of my MS2000. so far its only been doing it to the 2 latest
patches ive made.

This is not an issue with the OS, it is user error.

When you hit STORE - are you hitting the key twice so the SURE?[Y/N] flashes? If you hit
STORE only a single time you may still use the -/= keys to select a Voice location - then
hitting STORE a second time will present the prompt SURE?[Y/N]

Regarding the OS, you will find the following on the AN1x FAQ:
http://www.geocities.com/jondl_2000/an1x_faq/an1x_faq_toc.htm

How can I determine the OS of the AN1x?

Turn OFF the power.
Press and hold the [0], [-] and [+] buttons down simultaneously while turning ON the
power.

What is the most current OS Version of the AN1x?

v1.04 - EPROM supplied by Yamaha can be installed by the user with average ability to
install computer peripherals and memory upgrades.

Are there any new features introduced with the most current version of the AN1x OS?

No, v1.04 introduces no new features.

What bug fixes are addressed with the most current version of the AN1x OS?

1.04 OS corrects an erroneous 'low voltage' warning which can occur prematurely and also
corrects the audio response when modulating the depth, i.e., return, of delay effects.

Ive had the board since august, i know how to properly save patches. i
just dont know why its screwing with me. when i was using earlier on
today, i would add eq and add effects to this patch i was doing i
would save, then the filter and fm would change, but then when i
changed the patch and went back to it, all the eq and effect setting
has gone dry. im mad cuz i really like this board, and i want to keep
using. thanks for the info about the OS by the way.

Perhaps the Backup Battery is going south - but then one would assume it would affect all
your user Voices and not just the one. Check this thread for some info regarding the
battery.

By some chance are you running a MIDI sequence while editing the Voice on your AN1x? If
so, I would speculate you may inadvertantly be sending MIDI CCs or a reset to the AN1x
which is affecting the programmed values. Aside from that, I've no more idea what might
be amiss.

Yea i speculated that , but i forgot to shut the board off after i disconnected it. then i
hooked it back up and some of the editing was working and some wasnt, its only on
certain patches. i guess that was some of my problem.
