Re: [AN1x-list] OT: PPG Wave 2.v VST Softsynth

Answered half of my own question ;-)

There is now a demo available from Steinberg for Mac & PC. It sounds
GREAT but the demo is crippled in functionality (couldn't test MIDI CC
assignments for example) and makes the_most_annoying "beep, beep, beep"
sound every minute or so - just to *remind* you that you are working
with a demo :-/

I'm not convinced (yet) that it's worth sharing CPU time with Logic or
not but the sound is GREAT (did I mention that?) and the price is much
more affordable than a MW II or XT.

Jon "I want new gear" Levinson

trust me... you want it.... you want it....
especially if you love *that* sound... it's not all that expensive either...
and it shares the mix well with the An1x.... see I stayed on topic =)

The ppg Wave2 VST is great.
It's the first softsynth I know, that is worth to be recognized as an "Instrument".
Maybe because wavetable synthesis fits to a PC intsrument. Maybe the Waldorfers did it.
but anyway, you can do some 80th sounds with this machine wich are difficult to with other synth's
the filter is amazing (a...mhm......."silver" sound). VST integration is perfect and it's more CPU friendly than I thought.
You can use 8 sounds on 8 channels by starting one instrument.
If you work with sequenzers check it out!
