[AN1x] racked?

[AN1x] racked?

2005-01-12 by darkstr1746@comcast.net

This question comes from total ignorance of what's going on. I just got a AN1x and after fooling around with it for awhile ( and loving it ) ... i was wondering if Yamaha ever put out a rack version of this thing. Did they?... if so, what's it called.
kind regards

Nah, too much like Roland. The silver EX5, now that's nice. I got one. :)

There has never been a production model. From what I understand, the
AN1r was developed and then canned. No idea why they did that. But it
happens all the time, products that are completely ready, and they don't
get marketed.

Yamaha did not create a rack version of the AN1x.

But it is possible to have a rackable AN-synthesizer using a Yamaha Motif
Rack (ES) or Kenton Plugstation with one or more PLG150-AN plug-in boards.

Yeah, I looked up the Kenton Plugstation once. Pretty nicely done.

They created it alright. They just decided not to market it.

No it wasn't. It was a rack version. It got never produced. The AN200 is
a desktop, not a rack.
