fun with the AN1X edit

fun with the AN1X edit

2005-01-03 by spaceanimals

Boy I feel stupid. I've had the AN1X edit for years and only used it
to archive patches. All those years of painfully adjusting every
stupid little parameter in the mod matrix, only to have to do it
again for the other scene. With the AN1X edit, all you have to do is
get the mod matrix the way you like it, click in the mod matrix
square, then hit ctrl C. That copies all the control matrix
parameters. Do the same thing but hit ctrl V and you can paste all
the control matrix parameters into any scene in any patch you want.
Real simple way to get all the knobs on every patch standardized. You
can do the same with the eq settings. You have to click on an EQ knob
before you hit ctrl V. I like the EQ off and that's the quickest way
I know to do it. Free EG curves can be cut and pasted, reverb
settings, delay settings. It's a nice program.

But Jimmy, Its More Fun Tweaking Knobs! Even If Its Hard To Get To A
Number (47 ... 45...47...45...ok, Here It Is.. 46)

But Nothing Beats Copy-Paste.... Nothing =)

I Spent New Years Eve Playing My AN1x Too... I Just Wish It Could Do
Different Settings On Each Scene Like Tempo, Arp and FX! Morphing That
Would Be just Awesome!

To All Those Synth Experts, What Gives The AN1x That Particular Sound?
Is It The VCF Mostly? It Just Have Something That Is So Recognizable!!

If you press the button and turn it, you get finer control over the
parameter you're changing.

Not that it makes tweaking settings any less of a hassle. :)

Right, isn't that the greatest thing?! My favorite use of AN1xEdit.

You've mentioned this before - shutting off the EQ - I have to give it a try.

After playing with a preview copy of Filterscapte (currently OS X, suppose to be available
for Win in '05) I bought a copy last week:

http://www.filterscape.com/

Ever since I programmed the Step Sequencer in Filterscape to morph Fitler settings I've
been dying ot have a go at emualting the effect on the AN1x.

Happy New Year.
