True, but...hm...a dj with a mp3.com site...does it mean he puts
other ppl. music up? Isn“t that kind of...illegal?

excuse me for sounding like some kind of old fart or
something, but i don't think these kinds of comments
are relevant or needed on an AN1x list.

if you guys want to bash DJs, please find a bash DJ
list. if you guys want to talk about the AN1x, then
we're all in the right place.

where is the list admin these days? subjects have been
getting waaaaaaayyyy off topic over the past week or
so.

thanks,
gordon

Let me tell you something, okay?
The person who wrote the initial comment (not the followup) actually
IS a moderator.
Second: the comment "where is the list moderator these days?"
is just as offensive a statement to me as the one you are trying to
defend.
So just take the comments for what it is and instead continue to go
about what's relevant
instead... that is a much better approach, and certainly from my
point
of view...
And lastly: I propose we do not take the DJ's this DJ's that any
further than this, if you
deserve respect you will get it, don't worry about it....
IMO the comments given were to prevent a certain degradation of the
list in general to
begin with.
Let's also keep a certain level of decency to prevent the list and
the
music in itself from
degradation.... (did i say something to offend anyone right now? No.
I
don't think so... If
the music is in any way apreciatable you have nothing to worry about
in the first place.)
Okay, this posting may be full of contradictions, so guess what...
just take what you find
usefull in it and leave the rest... You know what i mean? I tolerate
postings of mp3-sites,
because i have the respect for the artists who want to show them,
but no i do not want a list where everybody posts their mixes or
whatever to the list JUST
TO GET SOME HIGHER RANKING AT MP3.COM or whatever.
Catch my drift?

if my comment wasnt relevent, then your comment was also unwarrented and you
have crossed the relevency bounds by throwing your comment about my comment
in, so yeah, where is that admin anyway?

hehe, and for you info i was not bashing the DJ, I can do alot better than
that if i wanna talk smack....

Anywho, I went to play around with the Korg MS2000 again the other day, and
it just confirmed my last instinct on the synth-i will have it even if it
makes me homeless :-) Some of the sounds are so increadibly tight you can
get out of it, and the basses are enormous *sigh* i wish i had it right
now....

I played the MS2000. I could sell my AN1-x and pick up a rack MS2000 for
very little extra $$. BUT there are few features the MS2000 has that I would
need (that the An1-x doesn't have).
There seem to be a glut of "Flashy light" synth boxes out now (reminds
me of the Lasonic Ghetto-blaster radios festooned with LEDs you used to see
at flea markets).
I guess the synth manufacturers are going after a new target market with
these boxes (don't get me wrong I love arpeggiators- but I like to play
chords).
I'd like to hear more listmembers compare the MS2000 to the AN1x.

Celebrity synth death match anyone?.

Well, I don't really wanna compare the two because i love them both...and
those little buttons that your talking about on the MS 2000 are pretty lame
looking, but i think they serve a good purpouse, they are the appregiator
steps, i think it's better than the AN1x having to twist knobs to find your
note, i HATE that of course there is the AN1x Edit, but that doesnt hit the
whole AN1x market.....I am in LOVE with korg's delay function, it's
increadible, i use it all the time, and the fact that you can take an outside
source and run it thru all of the filters is enough for me (that's the only
reason i have a Korg EA-1, i use it solely for it's AUDIO IN feature and it's
delay, the MS2000 has TWO! Audio IN's!)

The AN1x is a great synth, and i'll always be attached to it cause it can do
so many things, it's a classic....The MS2000 is a mix between the AN1x and
the EA-1 and a little bit added and im sure ill be just as attached to
it-just in a different way....for me they are two different synths, they do
practically the same thing, but i'll have very different applications for
both of them....

oh yeah, about the look of the MS2000, you know, i got into a fight with a
kid the other day cause i said i didnt like the Kurzweil K2000, and he
thought it was cause i didnt like the way it looked.....i could give two
shits what a synth looks like as long as it sounds good and fits my needs
y'know? This kid passed up a few GREAT synths simply cause he didnt like the
way the looked, i think that is pretty much just absurd! So, in short, i
could care less if the MS2000 had "I AM A DORKY CANDY RAVER" welded to the
front of it as long as it did what it does :-)

    Excellent point.
I must say the MS-2000 looks like a Raver's Oberheim (blue with wooden
end pieces). The An1x has a horrible color scheme (those ugly color bars
next to each knob...bleeaauchh)- what were they thinking ? I guess the
original DX7's brown metal was pretty gross as well.

Well worth the listen (I like it dark). Lots going on in the track
(beautiful guitar distorted sound).

Thank you thank you :-) im glad you liked it.....i did all the realtime
effects with the AUDIO IN at the end of the track, and the "beatiful guitar
distorted sound" came from the EA-1's AUDIO IN as well.....quite a useful
piece in my opinion no matter how much everyone says "it looks like a toy",
or "it's just that GROOVEGEAR revolution crap," and that it may be, but if
you can find something useful to do with it do it, i'd use a stick, a piece
of gum, and a barrel of monkeys to pull some musical McGuyver shit y'know?
