an200 chopping first lead of pattern during pattern change

an200 chopping first lead of pattern during pattern change

2004-02-15 by Dave

I remember this has been discussed before, have searched the archive
of messages and can't find a reference to it:

The problem with the an200 when changing from one pattern to another
pattern, the first part, often it sounds like the first step of 16
gets chopped or stomped and doesn't sound right. This happens even
if you use Song mode and string several patterns together, each time
there is a pattern change, the lead (doesn't seem to happen to the
drums) gets chopped or is not as loud.

From memory I can remember discussions about that Yamaha had
explained this away in that they were reading knobs or something
after the pattern change and that is what had the unit busy.

Did this ever get fixed in a new software release?

Has anyone found a good workaround, so I can sit with the an200 by
itself and actually create a song without having to loop each
pattern into a off-board sequencer?

 ..Dave..

Dave,

You might want to cross post your question to the DX200 list here:
