AN1xEdit and the SB Extigy
2004-01-21 by Martyr Complex
I've just gotten around to putting AN1xEdit back on this PC and since the last time I used it I have started using the SoundBlaster Extigy USB audio interface, with Win2K Pro and the most recent service packs. 1.5 gigs RAM and an Athlon 2200+ CPU. No matter what config I use, when sending or receiving, AN1xEdit generates an error and shuts down. I've disabled the MIDI Thru since I remember having much issues with that config a few years back. The MIDI Thru cable has been disconnected from the back of the AN1x and the synth has been power cycled after removing that cable. The PC was rebooted after disconnecting that cable, just in case. I've got the Extigy ports listed correctly in the config. I can play the synth using the keyboard in the program with no problems, so it's transmitting the MIDI signal directly to the synth. I've also reinstalled AN1xEdit into the default folder it calls for, but still no joy. All of the following params are matched in the program and on the synth: Key Tx = 1 MIDI Rx1 = 1 MIDI Rx2 = 2 Arp Tx = OFF Device = 1 Anyone else using the Extigy see a similar issue? I searched the group for any past messages with 'Extigy' in the body, but nothing found. I'm wondering if this is pertaining to the USB connection on the Extigy. At this point, I'm pretty much stuck. Suggestions? Other than buying a Mac or getting a different OS hehe... Aaron www.deeplycreepy.com
