It's tough. All these state of the art soft synths and people all
over offering to give you free cracked copies. It's easy to
rationalize and it's tough to get caught.

Here I am saving up, waiting years to afford a copy of Cool Edit and
Reason cause I'm broke yet if I wanted I could get the gear for
nothing.

Come to think of it, with my CD burner I could get a huge library of
music just by borrowing friends CDs.

Doesn't make it right though.

I WAS going to post a reply to this here, but after I typed it up, I realized
I'd just written a great end-page editorial for my day job. Hey Jimmy, write
me via private email so I can cite you properly, okay?

Not the first time this topic has been discussed on AN1x-list (or off
the list for that matter) and, unfortunately, destined not to be the
last time :-/

Let us know when/where your editorial is posted...

Will do. Although, due to the time warp nature of publishing, even if
I were to stop the presses and yank the one in our current issue and
replace it (which won't happen), no one would see it until February.
March or April is more likely. I'll try to remember to let the list
know when it ships to news stands; people here who subscribe may flag
the list before I do! :)
