Nice to know that you one of those because of whom we see NO future Logic version on PC.

Good luck , ****..

You're comparing Apples to Oranges - none of those boards (AN1x, K5Ks, or MOSS)
are remotely similar. The simplest thing you could do is pick up a cheap MIDI
Controller from the likes of M-Audio/Evolution or Edirol for a couple hundred bucks.

Responsible individuals do - anyhting else is nothing more than theft. No excuse for
it.

While I totally agree on the first bit - I earn a living writing
software, thank you very much - the second part is, well, ludicrous. It
was a move by Apple to decrease the PC music software market.

Peter, I was speaking in general...
Place/remember (instead of Logic) any other plugin / software that is built for Mac or TDM , but not for PC or native system... (like WaveStation soft.synth from Korg which was stopped afaik) I am sure piracy is a PART of a reason for many decisions...

P.S. about logic - who knows if (much more active) piracy on PC was again one of the reasons for Emagic to sell to Apple.. so there is a sense in what I've said, i think... but that's not much of a point...

Ray.

You know, it'll be funny as heck if everyone stops waiting for those
Korg programs and they end up releasing them at NAMM next month. I'll
sure laugh, since I was one of the ones spreading the news that it
wasn't going to happen. Ha ha urgh ha.

Yeah, it's not like they give away whole operating systems for free
these days...

This argument is easily refuted. Theft and copyright infringement are
legally different (IANAL though). If you want to make a moral
argument, you will have to justify the business practices of the
software industry. Good luck.

For the record, copyright infringement is illegal and I don't
encourage anyone to break the law.

I'm using a Mozilla Web browser to type this message. Its programmers
offer it as a free download. Since I didn't pay for it, am I thief by
your reasoning?

No, it's not. It's simply convienant to ignore.

There are plenty of good, freeware applications available for download. All of the
application listed in the original post are commercial products. If the user didn't
purchase a license for the software then what else would you call it? Sorry, no way
around it: theft.

Theft and copyright infringement are

So that's makes it alright to illegally download pirated software? Nonsense, IMO.

You're joking right? Do you understand this conversation is in regards to the license
terms of commercial software not freeware? There *is* a difference.

Peter, is right - this conversation is getting out of hand - if anybody would like to
continue let's take it offline...
