christ! The MS2, was available here for 850 when it came out on the market
(the keyboard version) and that was at Guitar Center in Chicago of all
places!!!....You germans need to revolt against your still nazi ran music
distributors...but on the otherhand, that probably why all the dopest music
comes out of all the places where everything is so expensive, you dont have
some 15 year old kid going out and buying an MC-505 and getting picked up by
some naive label and representing your whole country with his "i mowed 100
lawns to buy this" piece of "groove gear" hehehae....

uhh, there's my rant,

Umm, probably a silly question... are we all talking in the same currency?

eg. in Australia I think the MS2000's around $1800 (???)

BUT,

$1AUS = 60c USA
$1AUS = 40p ENGLAND

Although, we ALWAYS pay more - even after price/currency conversion.

Because Australia is far from everywhere, from the US, from Europe, even from
Japan! I'd LOVE to go to Australia, but the airfare is $$$$!!!

And now we're getting *way* off topic (aint it fun!) but,

If you mapped out, in decending order, the economic climate of all the countries in the world, you could probably have quite a lengthy world trip living off the profits of currency exchanges.

I'd hate to think where I'd end up though. Actually, probably right back in Australia - we just introduced a GST (Goods&ServicesTax) 4 days ago!

yes, i think the ms2000 is much to expensive here. perhaps he sounds cool,
but it´s to limited and doesn´t lokes as good as a nord or virus (no, i
don´t judge a synth from his looking....is this correct english??)

if i can´t get the an1x i will pay a bit more money and go for a nordrack
II.....

oohhh..then i must resigne from this funny mailing list,perhaps i find a
similar for the nord....

lol...yeah right...It´s Korg, who are the bad guys here...
I just simply don´t buy from them. We have better (german) and
cheaper products anyway...Jomox, Waldorf...hehe...You can get a
Waldorf Microwave XT for around $950 here, right now. ;)

Yeah, instead we have 15 year old kids going out presenting
their "megacool" Dance-Trance-crap made with their "Radium"-versions
of Magix Music Maker, ReBirth and (Dance/Techno/Hiphop)eJay. (and
posting their URL´s here...) >:(

HAHAHHA, yeah, well we've got that here too...but not too bad, i dont which
is worse :-) hheheheh....heh, i guess that explains the whole waldorf thing,
you said it's inexpensive there....waldorf is INSANELY overpriced here, in
*my* opinion....others may disagree....

Yes you're right! A serious list should be something like an old aged home.
No kids allowed! Only serious people wich screw real buttons.
Let me suggest that (in particular young) people should improve first if
they are worth to be on the list.

Hm...i understand what you mean, but why so polemic?

Did anyone of the "dotcom"-musicians ever come back to tell us what
patches they use on their AN1x for their music? They just popped in,
posted their URL and disappeared in "vurtual" nirvana.

I have nothing against softsynths, as long as i don´t have to read
promotions for unoriginal sounds made with it.

Like it or not. I don´t like it.

Just my 2 euro.

Mhm..... you're right. This was too polemic, maybe it was not my day, sorry
for that.

But I join bands about 25 years. During this time I've met a lot of
musicians.
I depend on playing live because it's the only income I have. So I play a
lot with different people.
And I really don't like the attitude to judge people wich have a different
approach to music. (I often see this among musicians)
I can remember the time when Jasper van't Hof (hope that I type the name
right -keyboarder of Pork Pie)
have said that he would never use a synth -just organ and rhodes-.
But he wasn't more serious than Joe Zawinul........I guess.
Some years later Rick Wakeman said that he only use sequencers not faster
than he can play with his fingers.

Today thoose statements are nice and funny to remember, but not important.
What I want to say is that an instrument -like AN1- is just an instrument -a
tool- nothing more.
The crucial point is still the music, the idea the something you deliver to
the audience.

I like this list and I've learned a lot.
How to create sounds is an important item but to me it's also important to
listen to your music.
If anyone is able to post mp3's of his AN related music anywhere. I would
love to listen.
Not to mention the possibility to exchange midi songs with AN sys ex's. And
to work upon it as an open project.

Like it or not. I like it.

Rolf

Java-Softsynth Nanoloop for Gameboy (was: Re: Do-All-Be-...)

Hey, speaking of softsynths, everyone interested in weird sounds and
softsynths should check out these two sites:

http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Peter_Meijer/javoice.htm

That´s a Java-applet, a softsynth like "MetaSynth" for Mac, but this
is for Java. It´s big fun to play around and create odd stuff.

The other site is:

http://www.nanoloop.de

It´s a softsynth/step-sequencer-module for the Nintendo Gameboy, very
cool for making music while on holiday (and much cheaper than
Yamaha´s QY70...700).
I have it already and plugged it through a preamp to my mixer. It´s
really fun and fits well to AN1x-pad sounds.

Cheers, Tom

yes...
awesome...say that I bought an MV30 and a sampler..
if only I had knew...
no more diesel for electricity, just a hammster
for the amp,or a friend on a bike..sweet hollydays..
Say,about soft applis, does anyone herebye has an
experience in VBasic or Inprise's objectpascal?
I was wondering wich of the two should allow the
largest palette in win32 environnement...
I need one of the two for a schoolproject, and would
be very please to have a solid opinion.
Thanx.
