Jerry,
One sound in my head (which I'm sorry to say that I should have tried
programming by now) which might be possible with the Free EG... it's this
step decending or ascending modular Moog sound which used the step
sequencer... I'm hearing Ozric Tentacles using it a lot, the Moog breaks in
Steve Miller's "Fly Like an Eagle", an old Moog virtuoso Morton Sobnik (sp?)
etc. I'm wondering if it can emulate that sound by patching it to the
filter and tone simultaneously...

Hi Ed (and Jerry),

We do Fly Like An Eagle, and there is an easier way to do the sequences -- use the sequencer. :^) There is a little trick to it, though: I programmed several different variations on the runs to the lowest octave of white keys, then programmed silence into all the black keys. Then I set the AN1x to the mode where you can queue up a new sequence while the old one is playing. Once this is done, all I have to do is hit the proper white key to trigger the sequence I want, then immediately hit a black key; the synth will play the first riff, then play silence until the next time I hit a white key! You can also program longer sequences this way; program the two halves of the sequence to two adjacent white keys (ex: C and D). Then hit one key (C), wait a half a bar then hit the second white key (D), then wait until the second sequence kicks in before hitting a black key.

I programmed a split with the same sound in the upper four octaves, but no sequencer. This allows me to solo on the sound when I want, or play a sequence when the Hammond part gets busy.

Regards,

-BW
