hallo.

sound.

Nein! Nein! Nein!

I think German is cool. I heard some artsy techno group years ago covered Isaac
Hayes' "Theme From Shaft" - In German. I wanna hear that version so bad.

But it is still an English list, and ofcourse we should respect that
whenever possible....
Though it's not so bad either cause he wanted to know where to buy an
an1x, and if it can
come close to the Nord II and if there are other fat synths like the
JP8080 ;)

Hi Roland
........Hi Roland

.........Of course there are german users on this list but we should try to
write in english.

It's difficult to to get a new one. Try to find a used one. Or -if you are
lucky- you will find an AN1 at the big german stores like:
Music store http://www.musicstorekoeln.de
Spieker + Pulch
Amptown www.amptown.de
Music City www.music-city.de
Thomann www.thomann.de

Regarding the question if the An1 is as good as the nord lead:
As you already know each synth has its very own sound.
I like the wooden percussive sound of nord lead very much.
But I like the knarz sounds of An too.
HEY YOU ENGLISH SPEAKING GUYS CAN YOU COMPREHEND THE SOUND DESCRIPTION
"KNARZ"

Something like the opposite of smooth
When I've started to make music the keyboarder of my band used the Korg MS20
(pretty long ago) when he used sawtooth waves and high resonance than the
machine said
"KNARZ"

thanx, but its some time ago, these stores have sold their last an1x
synths.

yes, from a guy in the keyboards forum i have the tip that brinkmann.de have
got some of them.
i ordered one before two weeks or so, but i only get a postcard, that they
have no one on stock, but they try to order one fron their supplier.

i think if i dont get one there i must live without it or hope to get one
used....

thanx anyway..

yes, youre right every synth has its own character.
but i missed the analogue punch in my setup (cs2x,quasar,wavestation) and i
thought the an1x would be the cheapest alternative..
because some people even compare it with the jp8000...

Yup, that was me, because i ordered mine there a couple of months ago
(three or four). But i checked again last week and the dude in the
music-department told me, that they are out of stock at the moment,
but they might get some last ones by August. Who couldn´t tell for
sure, because his boss wasn´t there. I recommend you to call them
(040 3004 0) and ask for the "Musikinstrumenten-Abteilung".

> because some people even compare it with the jp8000...
Seems, that you think that the JP8k has higher sound quality, indeed
the AN1x is superior, because of its bigger variety in creating sound
(more versatile synthesis engine). The JP8k is cool, no doubt, but
kind of limited. Still, the Roland has the nicer interface.

I think the English-with-a-German-accent like Kraftwerk and Scooter are even
kuhler.

Hey gringo! Leg die Kanone her, sonst knallt's!

The AN1x ist pretty kuhl, though. Especially if mixed mit a German accent.

laaa...yes..Kraftwerk is cool, as well as Yello (Austrian) but
Scooter suxxx big time. I´ve never heard such low inspired "Techno"
before. All they do is covering irish, german, whatever songs and
underlaying it with a bom fss bom fss and some squealing synths.
There are way better "English-with-a-German-accent"bands in Germany.
Check for Mouse on Mars, Schlammpeitzinger, Das Modul (ok that´s more
80´s NDW with 90´s sound...but who cares...)etc.

> The AN1x ist pretty kuhl, though. Especially if mixed mit a German

Trek: The Old Series...you should try that...together with some nice
house-beats, a 303-line and some of Jon´s nice pad-patches...instant
Goa!

learn too long about IPX/SPX and other layer 3 and 4 protocols...)
