Re: [AN1x] wall of sound

i am just running everything to a onkyo stereo reciever...with 2 alesis studio monitors. when i play in just headphones (sony v700) sounds tend to seperate a little, but individual volumes need adjusted to sound good. ie bass booms in the headphones, drowning some of my highs. rainbow jimmy made a suggestion to cut down the sustain on some of my sounds, which definatly may be a problem, and i am also running a good bit of reverb... i am working on a progressive house/trance song. i am trying to create a ton of atmosphere with a ton of percussion. it is almost as if it is the reverb or "the sustaining" of a sound that is giving me the atmosphere i want, but it is also drowning everything. this is a pain in the ass...i usualy stick to more minimal styles of music, but i guess it is good to learn everything.
