You can dump the sounds to a plg-bank on the smartcard of the PLG host and
name it autold-someting (it's in the manual) to have the host auto-reload
the bank to the PLG board memory at startup. (takes a while though...)

That would work only of the Plugstation accepted SmartCard 
media - which it does not :-( That's part of the dilema and why he 
is looking for methods of dumping SysEx from a device other 
than a computer.

Ah, sorry, missed the plugstation part. Yea, then you have a problem...

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
