There is a PLG100DX board, though:

http://www.yamahasynth.com/pro/plg150/xg.html

(The URL and page title are misleading: they call it the PLG150DX.)

The idea was to take the on board sounds away form the sw and place them on a plg board plus some extras. This allows the new sw to have more facilities and less hardware ristriction. The xg100plg is only a light version, not the full sound set.

Anytime you see a product with an MSRP near $500 on blowout for less
than $200 USD it's a fairly safe bet it's been discontinued. I don't
know why Yamaha chooses to remain ambiguous in this regard. It's not
like we haven't seen this pattern in recent years with the AN1x and
FS1r and SU700 and EX5/7...fwiw, Roland gear seems to have an even
shorter shelf life than Yamaha (at least here in the U.S.) They're
particularly cut throat in regards to slashing pricing on recent
releases.
